Here is what is Happening at SCCS

o The first day of school is August 24^th.  The Bishop will be here at 11:30 to offer a blessing, greet the students and hopefully offer words of wisdom for all of us as we begin this Faith Journey.

o Did you know that the $4800 tuition covers the students’ field trips, their textbooks, technology fee, etc?  The only costs to the parents after tuition is paid are Before and After School Supervision, lunches and uniforms.  And, if you pay your tuition in full prior to August 1^st, you receive a $100.00 discount.  Now that is a deal!

o As the start of school is rapidly approaching, the Father Deane is seeking individuals to serve on the first Santa Cruz School Advisory Board.  There are forms available for you to nominate someone you feel would be right for this Board.  There is also a form for nominating yourself, if you wish to be part of this historic time group.  There will be training provided for all members.

o We have been fortunate to have a gift of money to use for financial aid.  Although the amount is limited, we would love to have any parishioner who wants their child to attend the school, but do not feel they have the funds, to come to the school office for the application packet.

o A special aid amount is set-aside for a student who has a member of the family in the military.  Even if you have already enrolled, if you are eligible, please call the office.

o The school is still taking registrations, so come by and sign up.  We will take all students in PreK-1^st wishing to receive a faith-filled education.  The current enrollment is PreK-6; K-5 and 1^st-4.  Did you know that over 100 applications have been handed out?  So it will be first come, first served.

o There will be no testing prior to the start of school.  All screening will be done after school starts during school hours.  This was decided due to the slow enrollment thus far.

o The YMCA will be the provider of After School Supervision during out first year.  They will provide care on all days the school dismisses early or during days off except for federal holidays.  An information sheet will be available soon with pricing and details.  It will also be posted on the web site.
